Conceptual Wreath of Copper

Copper Necklace on Textured Canvas, 11” x 11”

About the work: For Conceptual Wreath of Copper, my inspiration was found in nature, as well as the pure fun of manipulating the metal. No matter the season, trees and their leaves have always fascinated me. The textures, the patina of weathered color, the forms and shapes are lovely in all lights of day or night. The metal was intended to be a necklace, but it is so sculptural, I felt it needed to be framed and mounted with other textures of similar values. It has become one of my favorite pieces because it seemed to take on a direction of its own as it was being created. Hope the viewer enjoys the interplay of elements and principles within the artwork.
